‘Non penso ad altro che al goal contro i bianconeri’

Sarebbe impossibile scrivere un pezzo circa la partita di ieri sera senza menzionare quel controverso rigore concesso alla squadra di casa nel secondo tempo. Posso dire di aver rivisto almeno dieci volte l'episodio fischiato e ancora non ho compreso quale giocatore si siamvoluto sanzionare per il 'presunto fallo', se fosse Angelo Ogbonna o Danilo D'Ambrosio. Come ho scritto ieri sera su Twitter, non sono uno di quelli che crede nei complotti arbitrali, e non posso immaginare ci sia un programma esplicito a sfavore del Torino, ma é innegabile che i granata abbiano subito numerose decisioni arbitrali contrarie nelle ultime settimane. Prima la discutibile decisione sul fallo di mano di Kamil Glik contro il Cagliari, con un rigore concesso, risultato poi decisivo per la sconfitta del Toro. Poche settimane dopo é arrivato, contro il Parma, quel cartellino giallo per Sansone per simulazione, in seguito al quale i granata hanno di nuovo perso la partita. Certo, almeno quest'anno al Torino é giá stato concesso il doppio dei rigori fischiati a favore nell'intera scorsa stagione (due), ma in entrambe le occasioni si é trattato di decisioni inconfutabili, mentre lo stesso non puó dirsi di quelli fischiati contro, estremamente discutibili. In Inghilterra siamo soliti dire che le decisioni contrarie e quelle a favore, in un modo o nell'altro, si compensano nel corso della stagione, incrociamo le dita che sia cosí anche da voi, e magari il Toro riceva un buon trattamento nell'imminente derby contro la Juventus. Dopo aver appreso la bella notizia che il derby verrá trasmesso dalla tv satellitare inglese (sará la mia prima volta da quando mi sono innamorato del Torino), non ho potuto fare a meno di immaginarmi come possano fare i granata ad ottenere un buon risultato. Addirittura, turandomi il naso, ho iniziato a sperare che la Juventus possa avere, alla data della partita, ancora chances di passare il turno di Champions League. Del resto, avendo soltanto quattro giorni dopo un'ostica trasferta contro lo Shakhtar Donetsk, da vincere assolutamente, la Juve potrebbe essere poco motivata contro il Torino e magari pure far riposare qualcuno dei titolari. Sono sicuro che anche il piú ottimista dei tifosi spererá di incappare in una 'giornata no' per i bianconeri, che potrebbero scendere in campo snobbando arrogantemente l'impegno, con la testa giá a Donetsk. Il Toro allora potrebbe approfittarne e fare il colpaccio. Come vi ho detto, non sto pensando ad altro che a quel derby: seguendo il Toro dal 2005 non ho mai visto i miei segnare contro la Juventus e, sinceramente, spero che questa statistica possa finalmente essere messa in soffitta. I’ve now watched the penalty incident about ten times, and I’m still not one hundred percent sure which player was penalised for the apparent ‘foul’ - whether it was Angelo Ogbonna or Danilo D’Ambrosio. As I said on Twitter last night, I’m not one for believing in refereeing conspiracies and I don’t think there is an agenda against Torino, but it cannot be denied that the Granata have had a number of decisions go against them in recent weeks. Firstly Kamil Glik was harshly adjudged to have handballed in the area against Cagliari, and that penalty was decisive in condemning Toro to defeat. Then a few weeks after that Gianluca Sansone received a second yellow card for simulation against Parma, and once again Torino went on to lose that match.    Whilst the fact Torino have already been given twice the amount of penalties this season than they were awarded last campaign shows that they have been given some decisions by the referees, on both instances they were clear-cut judgements to make – whereas the decisions that have gone against Torino have been extremely debatable. In England it is often said that ‘referring decisions even themselves out over the course of the season’ and fingers crossed this is the case, and maybe Toro will get a favourable decision against Juventus in a fortnight.   After receiving the news that the derby against Juventus will be broadcast live on British satellite television (the first time it will be since I started supporting Torino) I have already started to think about what would need to happen in order for the Granata to gain a favourable result. In fact, rather controversially, I have even started to hope that Juventus will still have a chance of progressing from their Champions League group by the time we meet them on December 1st.   The thinking behind this is that four days after the Derby della Mole, Juventus face a difficult match against Shakhtar Donetsk. Therefore, if Juventus need to beat the Ukrainian champions in order to qualify from the group stage, then they may be complacent against Torino, and perhaps even rest a few players in preparation for the Champions League.   I’m sure that even the most optimistic Toro fan would admit that in order to beat the bianconeri, they would have to have an off day – and if they somewhat arrogantly were already looking ahead to the match against Shakhtar, then Torino could perhaps cease that opportunity and cause an upset.   As I said, I think I may have been thinking about the derby a little bit too much, and to be honest as someone who has never even seen Torino score against Juventus since I began following the club in 2005 – I would even delighted with that stat finally coming to an end.   Forza Torino
