The Centenary day will remain impressed in the mind of the Granata fans for a long, long time: the incredibly intense and touching pregame show, the parade of almost 100 former players (including legends like Leo Junior and Paolo Pulici), Empoli's "ghost goal" and finally Comotto's awesome last-minute shot that gave Toro the third straight victory.

After the match, Gianluca still couldn't believe what happened. "I can't describe what I felt" he said, "scoring the winning goal in such a special day and right in front of the Maratona fans is something incredible. I put all of my heart and soul in that shot, and I believe that it was a kind of reward for the determination I always showed in these 14 matches. It wasn't an easy match for me and that's why I celebrated so much after the goal. We were lucky when the referee didn't allow Empoli's goal, but I didn't really realize that the ball had crossed the line".

Alessandro Rosina echoed his teammate's words and added: "We keep on improving, playing against the best defence of the league was a really tough test but we managed to create several good opportunities. It was a very intense day, unfortunately we couldn't watch the entire show but playing in front of so many Granata legends was definitely something special".

Alberto Zaccheroni was obviously satisfied, but the Toro coach believes that there's plenty of room for a further improvement. "We're not at our best yet, we still have to find the right balance. Today we struggled a bit more than in the previous two matches because Empoli are a very good and solid team, but the players are doing really well. We chose not to join the pregame show precisely in order to find the right concentration: our task was to give the fans a reason to celebrate after the match".
